Ferndale, WA — May 7, 2025 — The Ferndale Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce two key hiring opportunities as we look to grow our team and deepen our impact: Executive Director and Tourism and Communications Coordinator. These roles are launching at a pivotal time, as we begin implementing a new, five-year strategic plan to make the Chamber the go-to resource for businesses and a key connector across the Ferndale community.
Our next Executive Director will lead the Chamber through a new era of stability, growth, and collaboration. This leader will guide our efforts to strengthen membership, increase visibility, build partnerships, and ensure long-term sustainability.
At the same time, we’re hiring a part-time Tourism and Communications Coordinator to help rebuild our public presence, tell the story of Ferndale’s vibrant business community, and support our Visitor Center operations, which are essential resources for both residents and visitors.
As we look ahead, we do so with deep gratitude for Suzanne Gavin, who has served as our Operations Coordinator since last year. Suzanne’s warmth, steady leadership, and deep professionalism have helped the Chamber move through a time of significant transition with clarity and momentum. Suzanne will be stepping down from her role on May 9, 2025, as she embarks on a new career chapter. We are incredibly thankful for all she has done and know that her next team will be just as lucky to work alongside her.
“Suzanne joined the Chamber team in early 2024 and immediately made a positive impact,” said Alyssa Pitcher, Board President. “She stepped up in a time of uncertainty and transition, with strength, warmth and consistency. The impact that she made during her time with us will make a lasting impact on the trajectory of the Chamber and we’re incredibly grateful for everything that she brought to her role here.”
“Throughout my tenure at the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and opportunities that came with my role. Serving the Ferndale business community has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I am grateful for the chance to contribute to its growth and success.” said Suzanne Gavin, Operations Coordinator.
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my colleagues, the board, and the entire community for their unwavering support and collaboration. It has been an honor to work alongside such dedicated and passionate individuals.” Gavin said. “Thank you once again for the opportunity to serve. I look forward to seeing the continued progress and success of the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce.”
The Ferndale Chamber of Commerce remains dedicated to supporting and connecting our business community, championing local commerce, and making Ferndale the best place to live, work, and do business. We are thrilled to begin this next chapter and welcome new team members who believe in the power of small businesses and a strong community.
