The Cascadia Skillshare Faire (formerly known as Whatcom Skillshare Faire) is a weekend-long event focused on building community resilience and increasing self-reliance. The event is open to community members in all walks of life, and can make a great family trip. Here's what the Faire involves: - SKILLSHARES: short classes, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations of practical skills (e.g. permaculture & gardening, animal husbandry, edible and medicinal plants, homesteading skills, fermentation, home brewing, bike and car maintenance, tool repair and other fix-it skills, transition skills, fiber arts and many others) - ENTERTAINMENT & FOOD: food vendors, a beer garden, and a stage with a great line-up of local musical talent as well as storytellers, dancers, and poets - BARTER BOOTHS: an opportunity for people to barter things like local produce, tools, wildcrafted and handmade items and so much more - CAMPING: onsite camping in beautiful wooded sites is available at the Lookout Arts Quarry Visit the website for information on tickets: www.cascadiaskillshare.org Also on website: vending and barter booth fees, camping fees, and information on how to volunteer at the faire for reduced admission fees
