Chamber Member Luncheon Meeting

One of our Membership Benefits is the Monthly Membership Luncheon, which is offered once a month on the third Wednesday. There is no Luncheon in January, as we host the Annual General Meeting & Awards Ceremony. Each month is sponsored by a different Chamber Member and we offer eight networking luncheons and three community speakers: March = WWU's Economic Business Center, June = Port of Bellingham and November = City of Ferndale, Haylie Miller, City Development Director 

Haylie Miller is the Community Development Director for the City of Ferndale and has worked there since 2013. She grew up outside of Marysville, on the Tulalip Reservation and graduated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School. Haylie worked as a field technician for a wetland mitigation banking company in high school and became intrigued with that field of work. After high school, she moved to Bellingham and studied Environmental Policy, Urban Planning and Business Administration at Western Washington University. During her college career, Haylie worked for a private land use consulting firm in Sedro-Woolley. Upon graduation she worked as a coordinator  for private engineering firm in Bellevue.

From 2013 through 2018, Haylie served as the Assistant/Associate Planner for the City of Ferndale.  As the City Planner, Haylie helped private developers navigate through the permit process as efficiently as possible. Haylie was promoted to the Community Development Director position at the start of 2019. Haylie now works on long range planning activities, administers oversight of the Building, Engineering & Planning permit processes, and works as the staff liaison to the Planning Commission and City Boards.
