The 2016 Tour de Whatcom is scheduled for Saturday, July 16th, and will be the 11th annual running of this event. This ride (not a “race”), is considered to be the Northwest’s Most Beautiful Ride, as the routes are truly awesome You get to see everything: Mt Baker, Lake Whatcom, valleys, rivers, lush farmland, beaches and Puget Sound all in one fairly level ride.
Beginning in 2014, the start/finish line for the Tour was moved to Railroad Ave in the heart of downtown Bellingham, in front of Boundary Bay Brewery. The location change turned out to be a great success, as there are several activities for riders to partake in: Bellingham Farmer’s Market, local cafes, shopping, as well as the outside patio at Boundary Bay reserved for riders upon completion of their route.
